        Re: 3960p01.dat - Space Radar Dish 4 x 4 with Red/Green Petals pattern —Franklin W. Cain
I noticed some problems/errors with the type-"5" (conditional edge) lines, so I fixed 'em. The file is 110 kb.... :-P I see a problem with the CATEGORY for this piece. As a "radar dish", its CATEGORY is "Space", and yet this specific patterned piece (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 3960p01.dat - Space Radar Dish 4 x 4 with Red/Green Petals pattern —Steve Bliss
(...) I think "Space" needs to cease to exist as a category, and all the parts in it need to be moved to more rational classifications. Steve (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 3960p01.dat - Space Radar Dish 4 x 4 with Red/Green Petals pattern —Larry Pieniazek
(...) I agree. I'd do the same for town and castle and all the rest. (excepting train of course... all other themes exist as spare parts for train)... Ok, train too. More seriously, I believe I've argued in the past for a purely functional (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: 3960p01.dat, "CYLINDER??? Radar Dish 4 x 4 - Red/Green Petals" —Franklin W. Cain
So.... What would be the CATEGORY for this part, then? "Radar Dish"? ;-) Or "Cylinder"? (As in "Cylinder Radar Dish...") If we're gonna do it, how 'bout we get started now? (A new year, a new beginning... :-) Thanks, Franklin (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Re: 3960p01.dat, "CYLINDER??? Radar Dish 4 x 4 - Red/Green Petals" —Larry Pieniazek
(...) "Spherical section"? It's not a cylinder except at the edges and Radar Dish is a usage, not a description of shape the way "modified plate" is, for example. I am not sure we can cause things to change easily. But if we can, we should get it (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

          Re: 3960p01.dat, "CYLINDER??? Radar Dish 4 x 4 - Red/Green Petals" —Franklin W. Cain
(...) OK, how about "Parabolic Dish"? That is the (mathematical) description of its form, without referring to its usage. Franklin (23 years ago, 7-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Re: 3960p01.dat, "CYLINDER??? Radar Dish 4 x 4 - Red/Green Petals" —Steve Bliss
(...) For now, leave out the 0 CATEGORY metastatement. AFAIK, all programs which look for 0 CATEGORY will grab the first word in the part title as the default category. Steve (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 3960p01.dat - Space Radar Dish 4 x 4 with Red/Green Petals pattern —Steve Bliss
(...) Right. Except that I seriously think Train should stay. There are many parts which are fairly Train-specific. But there are number of current Train parts that should be moved into other areas. (...) Right. But there are more pressing issues, (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Pushing my posting-count up another notch, I forgot to hit this one point, so I'm making another reply... (...) 'Functional' or 'descriptive'? 'Brick' isn't a functional label, except indirectly. Anyway, the categories should fall along the lines of (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
