Help needed with Minifig —Tore Eriksson
Could somebody please help this poor fellow put the binoculars to his eyes? I find it extremely difficult to turn his hands properly. If he turns his head a little, it's onnly better. But I want the left arm to remain in the same angle. TIA /Tore 0 (...) (14 years ago, 26-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Help needed with Minifig —Michael Heidemann
(...) This is the perfect use of the minifig generator in MLCad. As you can turn there the binocular, hand and arm separately but together if needed you will see that a minifig can not really use the binocular to see though. I hope this answer helps (...)      (...) This is the perfect use for the minifig generator in MLCad. You will soon see that it is not possible what you are looking for. cu mikeheide (14 years ago, 27-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Help needed with Minifig —Tore Eriksson
(...) Thanks for your response, "Mikeheide". Impossible - maybe for the Minifig Generator in MLCad, but not with the help from Notepad, Calculator, an inliner, and a lot of patience. :) I don't feel like installing the whole MLCad package just for (...)          Re: Help needed with Minifig —Michael Heidemann
(...) -SNIP- Ok, I see. There should be a possibility to change the binocular direction in the hand. Then the minifig generator is also able to bring this result (without calculation ;-)) cu mikeheide (14 years ago, 27-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Help needed with Minifig —Joshua Delahunty
(...) <model snipped> Wow, this looks really great. I have half a mind to texture map some (magnified) eyes into the end of the binoculars. I think that would look really humorous. In fact, this might be a nice general-use unofficial part, come to (...) (14 years ago, 27-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Help needed with Minifig —Tore Eriksson
(...) Thanks. :) (...) If you don't think of gradient colored irises, it would be 100 times easier with disc and ring primitives. Texture mapping is great - in other situations than this. (...)          Re: Help needed with Minifig —Joshua Delahunty
(...) You're welcome. (I know I'm in the minority a bit, but...) I'm not a fan of bending mini-figures at the knees and elbows or performing other not-physically possible changes to the bodies when modeling -- why use LEGO elements at all if one is (...)         Re: Help needed with Minifig —Steve Bliss
(...) Sorry I'm late to this party, but you also use LDLite metastatements. ROTATE and nested blocks make it a lot easier to position minifigs manually. In fact, just for an example, here's the output of the LDAO minifig generator. Note that some of (...) (14 years ago, 27-Feb-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Also, we had a thread about a new Minifig Extractor/Modifier and the need of a syntax that covers all (well, at least more) of the situations that may come up in that (...)
