I have heard about Lucas apparently vetoing set designs, but are we sure
they actually did?
I am currently re-working my Y wing to get it closer to the original and its
apparent that there are many inaccuracies - the engines should be
horizontally in line with the body (they are raised a brick or so) the R2
unit should be in the thin bit of the body behind the cab, the struts
holding on the bit behind the engine should be at 45, 135 etc. degrees and
not 90,180 etc. And so on...
Surely such basic things as these, some of which are easily fixed would not
have passed Lucas scrutiny, if indeed it received any?
I have heard it said that they look more at product quality rather than
accuracy.

| because they seem to want to use the "bridge" piece as much as possible :) i am surprised that lucasfilm let them use such an awful landing gear. probobly because TLG used the argument that to make anything good they would need to make a new piece (...)
