  LDraw parts images from TomS

Tom Stangl generated a huge 80-megabyte collection of LDraw parts images (all the parts in 16 LDraw colors) and put these up on his pages at Netscape (where he works): (URL) Tom's permission, the GIF image files listed above are viewable also at: (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Once it's tied into the part-search dictionary, it will really be cool. :) Once LDLite is ported to Unix, could images be generated on-the-fly? That would allow access to all LEGO-colors (background color would be nice, too). I wonder how hard (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) That might be an alternative, at least as a way to serve out images for further processing/translating to other formats. Unfortunately, png is not as universally accepted as gif (or jpg), so it's not as useful as an end-product. Steve (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)
