With Tom's permission, the GIF image files listed above are viewable also at:

  http://www.lugnet.com/ldraw/parts/

To display a particular image or a group of images, select a color from a list
and type in a part number or a range of part numbers to display.

The form and the CGI script at that page use GET rather POST, so the URLs
produced are bookmarkable and sharable.  For example:

  http://www.lugnet.com/ldraw/parts/?c=7&n=3474
  http://www.lugnet.com/ldraw/parts/?c=7&n=3068p65
  http://www.lugnet.com/ldraw/parts/?c=7&n1=3298&n2=3298
  http://www.lugnet.com/ldraw/parts/?c=7&n1=3400&n2=3499

This is really nice.  It will be great as a reference location.

Once it's tied into the part-search dictionary, it will really be cool.
:)

Once LDLite is ported to Unix, could images be generated on-the-fly?
That would allow access to all LEGO-colors (background color would be
nice, too).  I wonder how hard it would be to get LDLite to generate
transparent backgrounds.  Oh, wait--the trick is to get it to generate
gif images.  Which I don't think it can do, since it's a free program.
Oh well, that's Gyugyi's call.
