  Re: Technic angle connector angles

(...) Ah, I see you have been keeping "unofficial" parts. The 925 is the original part submitted for voting. Later, we found the correct TLG part number, 32015, and I simplified the description. So the 32015 is the "official" part released in the (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

  Technic angle connector angles

I just noticed that there are two versions of the technic angle connector #5 in LDraw, 32015.DAT Technic Angle Connector #5 925.DAT Technic Angle Connector #5 120 Deg. These have different angles, so I wonder: Which one is correct, and what is the (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Technic angle connector angles

(...) Oh, sorry. Well, I just had to have the parts before they became official, I guess. (...) But, but. I still noticed that the 925 and 32015 were in fact different. At least I think I did. The 32015 had a somewhat smaller angle, probably around (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Technic angle connector angles

(...) Drawing upon my hazy memories, I seem to remember that Lutz's first version of the 925 had the wrong angle. But he fixed & re-released it (I think). Also, thinking about the what the correct angles should be for all the angle connectors, they (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Technic angle connector angles  [DAT]

(...) Well, I think I came up with the answer myself. Peeking into 32015.dat, I found 1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 -0.38 0.92 0 -0.92 -0.38 s\921b.dat Now, using R, I find that (...) [1] 112.3337 (...) [1] 113.0739 So 113° would probably be the correct angle. (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Technic angle connector angles

Terry K <legoverse@geocities.com> wrote (...) No, I use the toothed thingys to make them. And it's really annoying. So when I draw up the latest MTB models I'm going to include the #4 even though mine are faked. If they ever appear I suspect I'll be (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Technic angle connector angles

(...) The question of angle accuracy is why I dropped that from the description. I figured the pieces are clearly marked, so that was all that's needed. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 20-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Technic angle connector angles

(...) True, but when you stack pieces on top of each other, you really need to know the angle, to be able to rotate the next pieces correctly. But then again, the 571.DAT Technic Liftarm 1 x 9 Bent Hasn't got the angle in the description, either. (...) (26 years ago, 20-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)
