Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) Ah, yes. I see it now. Mine is the later version. Wow.,.. that must mean they not only changed the white thingys, but also the actual ball connectors there... Sidenote: are the shifting parts of the gearbox, the ones that fit over the (...) (26 years ago, 3-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) Why, yes! There is one in 8479 and two in 8480. Fredrik (26 years ago, 4-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) Cool.. I was gonna get an 8480 anyway, this makes it only more necessary :) I was thinking about either a 5 or 6 speed box w/reverse... I'd have to design something for the lever, but that shouldn't be too hard, especially considering I've got (...) (26 years ago, 4-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) Hehehe ... the only problem is that you need to be going 20,000 mph to get into sixth, otherwise you'd bog the engine. Not to mention the clutch wear ... -- Lee Jorgensen, Programmer/Analyst - Bankoe Systems, Inc. (...) (26 years ago, 4-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) I don't have 8480, so I don't know quite what you mean, but basically, if you do the 8880 setup, only three instead of 2 next to eachother, and _replace the stick_ with somthing that does 6 positions, it should work... Jasper (26 years ago, 4-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) Look in the Technica Registry ... (URL) the changeover plates for the 8880, and the 8480, you cannot just stack three next to each other. First, you couldn't use any of the 8880 parts. That's specifically 4-position, and the gears are placed (...) (26 years ago, 5-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Two versions of the "Technic Axle Joiner"

(...) Only the white plate and the black stick are. (...) I was actually thinking of making my owhn H-plate/stick combination. Jasper (26 years ago, 5-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.general)
