Yes. The "multi-part DAT" (MPD) format. There is a tool for
collecting
DAT files into a MPD file. Have a look at:
http://www.ldraw.org/download/software/mpd_builder
Actually, it is just a matter of inserting "0 FILE
<filename>" as the first line of each of the DAT files and
then collecting them in one file.
