  Another question from a CAD Newbie
 
I'm working on 'recreating' the Castleland sets in LDRAW/MLCAD (for me, lots cheaper than trying to hunt down the real sets [wife's objection #1] AND takes up less space [wife's objection # 2]). As I progress, I am getting more into making (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad)

Try converting the Several .Dat files, into a single .MPD file with the available tools. Just remember that not all Ldraw apllications support the MPD (Multi Part Dat) format See ya Rui Martins (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Get Jacob Sparre Andersen's buildmpd utility (there should be a link to it from (URL)). It's a command line program, but it will combine all your subfiles in one shot. Or use MLCad's import functions to add each file to the master. Steve (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad)

Mark: (...) Yes. The "multi-part DAT" (MPD) format. There is a tool for collecting DAT files into a MPD file. Have a look at: (URL) it is just a matter of inserting "0 FILE <filename>" as the first line of each of the DAT files and then collecting (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad)
