I'm experiencing similar phenomena on Vista 64-bit. Not sure if it's actually
related...
I have my own app for generating instructions, which does batch rendering using
LDView. I noticed that for rendering images of individual parts, it was taking
6-7 seconds for each one!
But, if I take the command line I'm using and run it manually in a console
window, the image actually shows up and seems to be fully created pretty quick,
in at least under a second. What the heck? I popped up Task Manager and noticed
that the LDView.exe process was still running for a solid 5 or so seconds after
the image was created.
Since I'm waiting for the actual LDView process to end before continuing, it
results in a significant delay while running my application.
No idea if the slow exit is just a 64-bit phenomena, but it wouldn't surprise
me. I also have no idea how LPub is calling LDView, so no idea if it would be
having the same issue.
Anyway, not much help I know, but there's some more info for anyone else who
might be looking for it.

| (...) I have built LDView from scratch in VC++ 2010 on a Win7 (64bit) machine and the resulting executable works like a charm, both in command line (cygwin), and from LPub. Didn't do any changes in the project file, so it must be something with the (...) (13 years ago, 21-Jan-12, to lugnet.cad)

| Has anyone else experienced LDView being extremely slow making snapshots in Win7 (64bit)? The main problem is when run from LPub - then LDView is called quite often, and that's when I first noticed that something was terribly wrong compared to (...) (14 years ago, 13-Feb-11, to lugnet.cad)
