(URL) just updated. So far, I've written 4 "chapters": * Brief Presentation and Preparations * Creating the Static Scene * Let There Be Light! * Let There Be Light, Part II Next step will be to improve colours using PreL3P. I don't know if it will (...) (19 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

 | | New Project: DatShine, LDA, PreL3P, L3P, And POV Involved
I have decided to set aside at least one hour a day to the project I just started today by writing this post. The three main goals are: 1. Create a short animation, using the tools mentioned in the subject line above. 2. Write a diary that explains (...) (19 years ago, 20-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

 | | Instruction Step Fading with PreL3P
I have posted an article (tutorial?) about using PreL3P for fading previous steps in instruction renderings: (URL) on some comments I infer that this effect may be old news to LPub/POV-Ray users, but I think it may still be of interest to some Mac (...) (19 years ago, 19-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

 | | PreL3P 1.3
I posted the new version of PreL3P today. The only addition, of course, is support for meta commands at any point in the model. (URL) commands at the beginning of the model are still "special" in that they override the default command line options. (...) (19 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

All previous posts look promising! If you guys could use your precious time to write some Windows tools to do things like executing the script and stuff I can't wait to try it out! (19 years ago, 18-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Here's a slightly tweaked version that seems to work OK with paths and filenames containing spaces: #! /bin/sh prevfile='' for thisfile in "$@"; do if "$prevfile" = "" ; then echo 0 !PREL3P -ldconfig normal.ldr > "faded.$thisfile" cat "$thisfile" >> (...) (...) I tried the script out in Windows using cygwin, and it seems to work. Some observations: Until prel3p 1.3 is released by Jim, I can't be sure it works. The output is a mixture of DOS and Unix line endings. The files generated by MLCAD have DOS (...) (19 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

(...) Correct. Technically, the prel3p commands affect color substitution on following lines, so you'll need to insert code in two places: once at the beginning of the model to use the "faded" colors, and again at whatever point you wish to restore (...) (19 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)
