Hi Duane,
I'm sure Jake will jump in here and answer some of these questions, but
there are some I can answer as well;

We made the decision to launch without a delete function as we identified a
potential infrastructure problem with the solution we originally designed
very late on. We are working on a new delete function and I'm sure Jake will
be able to give an estimated time for this.

You are absolutely correct - there are various parts in LDraw that aren't
sold as individual items on Bricklink, but rather as a complete assembly.
We have had many discussions between us trying to work out how to deal with
this and realised that a solution could be invented, (where we essentially
map parts that make up a complete assembly) but it would have delayed the
initial launching of this application.
Again we decided to launch without a 'parts to assembly' translation
routine, but we are still going to work on this over time.

Not a bad idea! This is something we may consider.

Translating between Ldraw and Bricklink part numbers is a very complicated
process and I'm sure you'll agree. Many of the part numbers are identical
which is great, but many are not. For those that are not, our application
uses Part Mapping rules. This is where we basically have scanned the entire
LDraw parts list and mapped them (where possible) to Bricklink part numbers.
We actually have a huge list of these rules, but we know we didn't get them
all.
How the community can help is by reporting any LDraw parts that translate
wrong at Bricklink. Simply leave a posting at the BrikTrak forums
(www.briktrak.com/forums) in the part mapping forum and then one of us will
check the parts and add the rule.
I am working on a page on the BrikTrak website, where you can simply fill
out a form, specifying the LDraw and BL part numbers, which will put the
request into a queue and we will be able to easily add the rule, but for now
a forum posting will do.

Admin at Bricklink will be adding much more functionality over the next few
weeks. I don't want to give any secrets away, but the page you currently see
is not the final version. He is actually away on vacation at the moment, but
Jake and I decided that we could launch this functionality in a beta form
just so we could let people play with it.
What you see today is just an early preview of some of the ideas we have and
as I'm sure Jake will agree, we have some very exciting stuff planned for th
e future.
Thanks for the feedback - I'll leave now and let Jake jump in if he wishes
to!
Richard.
