  Re: iPad and Android

(...) I'd be willing to front the iOS developer fee in partnership with someone, but I really don't want to have to learn how to program... Anyone interested? We could charge a buck for the finished app to get back the developer fee... Paul (14 years ago, 18-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Much faster stl2dat

(...) I notice one of your proposed enhancements is to use Delaunay triangulation. I would recommend Jonathan Richard Shewchuk's triangle library, I used it on txt2dat and it works great. Theres a link at (URL) (14 years ago, 18-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: iPad and Android

(...) It is true that you can download and install the iOS SDK with a free Apple developer account, so you can in theory develop an app without paying any money. However, in order to get the app onto a non-jailbroken iOS device, you have to pay the (...) (14 years ago, 17-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

Hello, I have uploaded a much faster version of stl2dat. It can be downloaded here (URL) Klein (14 years ago, 17-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: iPad and Android

(...) This is an issue I considered during my brief fling with a Java-based LDraw web viewer: (URL) I own a 4th-gen iPod Touch, and I even have an iPad at work, so I've considered (...) That would be really neat. Having a static library (e.g. (...) (14 years ago, 17-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: iPad and Android

(...) A simple zip file also makes sense for Android. I believe that SDK uses java, and the .jar files used by java apps are really just .zip files with a different file extension. (...) Yeah, maybe it makes more sense to try and push the Bricasso (...) (14 years ago, 17-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: iPad and Android

(...) I own a 4th-gen iPod Touch, and I even have an iPad at work, so I've considered it. I think it could be done for the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch. In fact, I could see a pared-down LDView running there quite happily. The library could be a simple (...) (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: iPad and Android

(...) Not that I'm aware of. The biggest issue I can think of is how to handle the library. I think the best way would be to convert it to a binary format and update the app every time a new parts update is released. -Orion (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  iPad and Android

Does anyone know of any efforts to build an LDraw display app for the iPad or any Android system? (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub Error Message?

(...) Its main purpose is performance. On my Mac (which has a crappy video card), I get between 10% and 15% improved frame rate on LDView's 8464.mpd sample model with default LDView settings vs. the same settings with BFC disabled. Having said that, (...) (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub Error Message?

(...) What does BFC actually do? I have not noticed that it makes anything render faster when BFC is enabled...at least not in my limited experience. I have used the BFC statements to create the normal to the quad / triangle plane in the correct (...) (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub Error Message?

(...) Sorry for the delay. Yes, all sub-parts and primitives must have some BFC command prior to the first action in order for BFC processing to be enabled for the sub-part/primitive. (This is typically 0 BFC CERTIFY, incidentally.) --Travis (14 years ago, 16-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LDConfig_Alt.ldr

(...) Too early to say. First, I have to work with the Datsville files a while. Every time I've been away for a while, it takes hours to straighten out exactly where I left it last time. /Tore (14 years ago, 12-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDConfig_Alt.ldr

(...) So does LDConfig_Alt look any better now? (14 years ago, 12-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub Error Message?

(...) Thanks, Travis. It appears that the problem does indeed arise from an incompatibility between the accepted part-file format and the format of my custom elements. AFAIK, the parts used to match the official LDraw format, but that may have been (...) (14 years ago, 12-Dec-10, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
