  Remix Lenin entry

I imagine this as "Joe Vig's tourist photo of the Lenin statue" (URL) L3p + manual editing in the .pov file. Nothing fancy. (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Raytracing Challenge: Remix Lenin

(...) Looking at my challenge entry, I realize that no one will learn anything from it... I'm pleased with the results, but it feels like a bit of a failure, because I can't give a good lesson on how the look was achieved. I tend to get very carried (...)   Re: Raytracing Challenge: Remix Lenin

(...) Thanks Jan. You've summed up pretty much why I wanted to make it: for education. It's a great way to learn what other people use and to encourage yourself to find out new tricks which you can then share. Tim (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: Raytracing Challenge: Remix Lenin

I totaly *love* this idea of challenge annex competition! It's been a while since I last rendered a scene and have to regain my skills. I have some idea on what I want to create, but it will be hard to do. All entries so far are absolutely beautiful (...) (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: L3PAdd-on 1.4.1 Release

Here's some other issues I've had regarding L3PAO (I wrote them down a long time ago, so I might not be able to remember exactly what I meant at the time): - Doesn't remember the last-used file correctly (always picks the first file in the (...) (19 years ago, 4-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad)

(...) [...] (...) Oops -- I wrote this really quickly. Also thanks to Dan Boger and Rebecca Swartz who put forth TONS of effort on the current web site. Apologies! This should teach me to stop naming names, but I digress. Sincere apologies if I left (...) (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Re: Tim Courtney (was Re: Call For Nominations: 2006 LDraw Steering Committee

(...) Everyone: I gave Lar the green light to post this, because I felt coming out and saying it first would be a tad presumptuous. I'd just like to say that it's been wonderful working with the LDraw community for the last (wow) 8 years! Lots of (...) (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Re: Call For Nominations: 2006 LDraw Steering Committee

--SNIP- (...) I'm sorry to hear that Lar. Perhaps you will reconsider next year. Tim (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Call For Nominations: 2006 LDraw Steering Committee

(...) I would like to express my thanks to Chris and Tim for the nomination and second. I have given serious consideration to accepting, and campaigning vigorously. When I ran for reelection last year, it was on a platform highlighting what the 2004 (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Tim Courtney (was Re: Call For Nominations: 2006 LDraw Steering Committee

OK, this is a bit out of process, sorry... What I had HOPED to be writing here was a nomination for Tim Courtney. Instead, you get this. I have been in communication with Tim Courtney, after asking him if he wanted to be nominated to serve another (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw) !

  Re: L3PAdd-on 1.4.1 Release

(...) My pleasure. Just note that the rotation of the LDraw camera object has no effect on the direction of the POV camera. The POV camera is pointed towards the look_at location and the LDraw camera rotation is (so far) ignored. I have no intention (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Remix Lenin Challenge Entry

(3 URLs) One more version, without the text.> The last render remixes I made were realistic and quite gritty looking, so I decided to do something smoother, flatter (in terms of realism), and more like an illustration.   Re: L3PAdd-on 1.4.1 Release

(...) OK, I tried your objects and it works great. I just changed the camera.dat and the look_at.dat files with yours from your posting and it worked fine. Thanks for the help! - John (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: L3PAdd-on 1.4.1 Release

(...) I can't see the camera and look_at objects in your zip file, so therefor I can't tell if you are using the functions correctly or not. Please have a look at the example I gave in the following post: (URL) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: L3PAdd-on 1.4.1 Release

(...) How does this actually work? I was assuming that I take any LEGO part, copy it, and then rename it to camera.dat and to look_at.dat. For this purpose I used the her.dat file created for the helper rotation tutorial: (URL) then assumed that I (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LMM Easy Minifig Animator (very Alpha)

Hi Regarding some confusion with James Reynolds's MInifig Macro, (URL) like to signal that, while I was indeed hoping to have released a new version of LMM by now, I've been extremely busy with work since the beginning of the year. The good news is (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad)
