  Rendering?

What programs do you guys (or gals) use for rendering (or ray-tracing, whatever the correct terminology is)? I created a model in MLCAD and was trying to find how to generate a rendered image of it. Thanks in advance. Play well. Tim Strutt 8^) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Instructions for Mobile Message Decoder

(...) Yes- I'm thinking that I'll do web versions that are optimized for browsing, and a downloadable zip of a more printable version. I'll have to keep the zips off of my site, though. These instructions are about 1Mb total (if I'm recalling (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish.html)

(...) Yes, that's a hard problem. I really would like numbers, but have yet to find an easy way to do good-looking numbers and have them positioned well. (...) I agree- but MLCAD doesn't easily do this. Would LDraw be better? (...) On anything but a (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish.html)

(...) Hey- those look pretty darn good! I'll investigate this. The extra shadows from the lighting are still somewhat distracting, but that may be worth it. Thanks! -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish.html)

(...) Wow- I didn't realize there was a setting for this. I'll check it out. (...) MLCAD has a picture-generation dialog (there's an icon on the toolbar of a camera to bring it up). It lets you choose a few different options. I'm using this to (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish.html)

But LEGO identifies the top and bottom as two separate items, so we should (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Instructions for Mobile Message Decoder

Very nice! I could follow almost every step. Some suggestions: 1) As others have said, use numbers rather than arrows. 2) On some steps, the scale was too small, and I had trouble seeing exactly what bricks had been added. It's better to keep the (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish.html)
