New Part: 3901.dat - Minifig Hair Male  [DAT]

Here is the best I can do at the moment on the minifig short hair. It is not as good as I would like it to be, as I need to figure out a better way of measuring these asymetric curved surfaces. I hope it is of some use as it stands. 0 Minifig Hair (...) (24 years ago, 5-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I have no official standing to delegate anything but if someone doesn't jump up and latch on to you I will be very surprised, as there are a number of areas within the site and elsewhere, where either word smithing, or worse, out and out (...)   Excellent Discussion, Well Met

When I wrote the original reply to the proposal last Friday, I knew what I was letting myself in for and braced very hard this morning for the onslaught of Pandora's Box.   Re: Math.. I'm making my head hurt...

(...) Y'all aren't helping me any. "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades". A name change is a name change is a name change. There are some 35 slope bricks with the wrong angle encoded into their names. And no one noticed it (or at least (...) (24 years ago, 5-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Math.. I'm making my head hurt...

(...) d'Oh! -- Yes, you're absolutely right -- thank you for the correction! (And I had this funny feeling when I posted that I was doing something wrong in the measurement. The vertical base part is 1/6 brick height, not 1/2 of 1/16.) --Todd (24 years ago, 5-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

RE: Math.. I'm making my head hurt...

(...) I agree with the first column (measuring from the bottom of vertical portion of the slope to the top of the slope), but not the second. In LDraw parts, the little vertical portion of the slope is 4 LDU, not 2, so the ratios are Brick | (...) (24 years ago, 5-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Math.. I'm making my head hurt...

(...) But the aspect ratio of a brick is 6:5 (height:width), not 1:1. Plus, there's the vertical base. So if you're measuring a single brick, you'll get one angle for the face itself, and if your're measuring a bunch of bricks, you'll get another (...) (24 years ago, 4-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad)
