(...) If you are interested to see how I did it, you can view the DAT file for the model at: (URL) for the keyword "Bezier" to find the first occurence of the bent flexible axle. I used the following names for the various parts of the axle: (...) (25 years ago, 13-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Voting Open for LCAD Parts Update 2000-01

(...) The problem with this approach is that there are many ways to draw a curve from one point to another, even given the angles at the end points. (...) [snip] Hey. why not add a new linetype or two to the ldraw format? this would solve both problems simultaneously: platform, and detail. (e.g. now it's the renderer's problem, not ours!) can't you just add: 6 c x y z a b c d e f g h i x' y' z' (...) (25 years ago, 13-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Hmm. That sounds workable. (...) Portable Java would be best... (...) I agree, I just don't see how flexible parts can be coded in LDraw. If you've got some ideas in this direction, I'd love to see them. The lack of flex in LDraw parts is a (...) (25 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New Part: 30228.dat Minifig Tool Motor Hammer

(...) Is 'jackhammer' the common name for this item in Australia? Not that we check often, but Australian English is the usual standard for LDraw names. Steve (25 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part: 30228.dat Minifig Tool Motor Hammer

Much better :) I might suggest that instead of skewing the cylinders for the handles, you could use a rotated cylinder and a pair of 2-4cyls.dat's at each end. A skewed cylinder is no longer a true cylinder (I hope I'm not overstating the obvious (...) (25 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) My comments (that have not already been mentioned) ... 2494p01.dat Does this exist as a printed part, or is this really a sticker? 2552.dat The edge lines on the underside do not seem to line up with the boundaries of the quads. 30044.dat (...) (25 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Another file - [3471.dat] This file has a lot of work on it, but still has some problems, specifically almost all the quads from the base are bowties. I have been able to test only a few parts iet, but here are my findings: - [flowers.dat] This file shows superimposed polys (tris and quads) in the petals of the flower, this is a problem in the flower itself (3742.dat), not in the flowers.dat (...)
