Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

(...) Thanks! It was surprising how well the ninjas blended in. My cousin first came up with the idea and I really liked it. So I adapted it. (17 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

(...) Ditto. This is a great Joe Vig vig! Well played, Josh! "Big Daddy" Nelson (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

I love the plateless vig concept. Nice work! God Bless, Nathan (URL) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

Duck Joe! Excellent camo, Josh. Truthfully, I didn't see the second ninja at first. Uhh, there are only *two* ninjas in the scene, right? ;) ---Will (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

I love the way the ninjas are so hard to see. Nice! Magnus (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Joe Vig and the Ninjas

Hey All, I haven't used Joe Vig in a long time. However, this idea leapt into my head while I was trying to think of a way to show off my new green ninjas. (2 URLs) Let me know what you think! Josh (17 years ago, 6-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

(...) I'll link a picture from GMLTC member Bill-2 (that's one of his firetrucks!): (URL) Something like this allows people to get their noses right up next to a model, but still prevents them from picking them up. Maybe Lego still has these (...) (17 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Displays at Fests

(...) Another idea might be to change the way the MOC is being presented. The biggest risk at shows I've been to is kids not understanding the toy/can-touch and display/cannot-touch difference. Stanchions and plexiglass both limit how close kids can (...) (17 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Displays at Fests

(...) This is a great question. I think a retail display case or a museum case would probably work best. It is an expensive solution for a LUG, but perhaps the venue has some available, or you can pick one up at a store that is going out of (...)   Re: Displays at Fests

(...) Ted, These are interesting questions to me as we are working to finalize arrangements for Brickworld. Personally, I make robots and they are "hands-on" items, so I don't want stanchions around my stuff at all. But, as you noted, the event (...)   Displays at Fests

While at BrickFestPDX 2007 last weekend it occurred to me that there was a problem with displaying microscale MOCs and vignettes. The public were being kept behind stanchions at arms-length from the tables on which the MOCs were displayed. I moved (...)   Re: Moonbase Hobo Vignette

It's the perfect use for monorail track for those who only own 1 single piece. I enjoyed the response to the flickr person who asked what it was made of. David "Fuzzy" Gregory (17 years ago, 29-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Spring is here.

To ring in the season, I built this last night: (URL) My second vignette. And I did not even know, it's the first day of spring when I built it. scott "I wuz just springing into it!" Frischmann. (17 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

My first vignette - Joe Vig visits the Schleim Factory.

Being in a mostly studs-up world, he decides to do something diff. He pays a visit to a place that makes studs point every which-way but up. What'll happen now? (URL) This is my first Vignette. I concieved this schleimy idea about a year ago. I just (...) (17 years ago, 23-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Hi! Great work on such little room! I love this two very much: (URL) (...) (URL) (...) Especially the little engine is very well done. (...) -snip actual MOCBoxes- (...) Nice idea, great execution. (The pirate one is obviously the best, but that might just be my bias showing ;-).) Spotlighted. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Richie Dulin (17 years ago, 21-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Introducing - The MOCBox

Inspired by the feedback to my recent (URL) MOC. I played around with the large trans-clear panel piece and came up with a simple idea for a container which I call the MOCBox. My first build was in response to (URL) Joe Meno's comment> about a Sea (...)
