Re: The First Joe Vig Contest - The Winners!!!

Cool! Thanks for running this contest, guys, and congratulations to the winners and all the participants! This was a really fun contest, with lots of great MOCs. Bruce (19 years ago, 20-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

(...) I concur, it was the prod I needed to start vignettes and I had a brilliant time, building and seeing the other entries. Hopefully the vignette ideas currently upstairs can one day see the light of day. Anita (19 years ago, 20-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Joe and Jonesy

(...) Wow, thanks! When I was getting ready to build the alien, I looked all around lugnet for ideas... I knew I had seen some done before. But if you search on lugnet for "Alien", you find a lot of other stuff not related to the movie. After I (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

(...) Thanks! And yes, all that black and dark grey blends nicely. This was one of those ideas that just hits you and then almost builds itself. That's what I love about doing the little vignettes- you get a lot of mileage out of a quick build. (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

From the curators... (was Joe Vig Contest Entry - Jedi Temple)

(...) Yes, there is an open hole that I SNOTed but <sighs> alas, I was in a hurry to finish so there would be 20 models (I am glad you entered too!), anyway, in my haste to finish, I realized that I didn't have any "Great" lighting and when I took (...) (...) Oups :-) Misread that one! I apologize, you are correct. I read Brickshelf or Lunet, no other website. My bad on this one...   Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Jedi Temple

(...) While looking at the vignettes, I noticed that the Jedi Temple vignette extended by a lot more than 4 studs in width. 3 on each side makes 6, not 4. --SNIP-- Hi Tony, You've really captured the 'unfolding' motion of the Alien (or should it be Xenomorph for this film?) brilliantly. Its by far the best minifig scale Alien I've seen. I don't fancy being in Joe's shoes at all. Your, Tim (19 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Joe and Jonesy

Awesome work, Alien is one of my favorite films. Great greeblies there with the chain, boxes and machinery. I like the creepy way the Alien blends into all those details, Joe looks allot like Brett with that expression and hat. Good work. (19 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Waltzing Matilda Vignette

Hi all, Here is my first attempt at a vignette. It is a recreation of the first two lines of the famous Australian (URL) Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Patterson.
