Re: A GeeBee for the Zoo...

Congrats on getting the contract! I hadn't realized they were going to have anything of the sort. I live in Kazoo, and I'm actually at the Air Zoo every day for a class, so I'll have to make sure to stop by. The Gee-Bee is gonna be cool to see (...)   Re: A GeeBee for the Zoo...

(...) Hey congratulations on getting the contract. Sounds like it should be lots of fun. From the info on the website, sounds like they will only be open til 5pm. Bummer, I'd be interested in stopping by, but work ends at 4, and it's about an hour (...)   A GeeBee for the Zoo...

Oh, forget the delay, I can't hold out on this! I've been commissioned by the (URL) Kalamazoo Air Zoo>, a new air & space museum in Kalamazoo, MI, to build a sculpture for their grand opening. I got to choose the subject, so what better than a (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.loc.us.mi, FTX)

Re: I am the new curator here

(...) It is standard practice (well. we are encouraging it to be) that you provide a way for people to tell who the curator of the group is, right there in the front page. It is even better if you can provide a way for them to contact you with a (...) (20 years ago, 15-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.admin.curators)

I am the new curator here

I have been given the honor of curating this group. This basically means that the stuff you see on the left side when you visit it in the LUGNET Web interface is now under my control. So if you would like me to add anything, or if you have ideas for (...) (20 years ago, 15-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Curator for sculpture group?

It seems that there isn't a curator for sculpture... if nobody wants to do it, I'd be willing... (20 years ago, 13-Apr-04, to lugnet.admin.curators, lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: New sculptures: Santa Claus bust and Leprechaun

(...) Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the red cheeks, but it looks worse without them, and Santa has to have rosy cheeks! I build most of my sculptures using only bricks from the 3033 tub (r.i.p.) so pink is not an option. You'll also notice (...) (20 years ago, 13-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: New sculptures: Santa Claus bust and Leprechaun

Hey, great job! I especially like the leprechaun! The form is great example of the quality of building that can be accomplished with just basic brick. The only suggestion I might make is the red cheeks on Santa stand out a bit too much. If you had (...) (20 years ago, 12-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

New sculptures: Santa Claus bust and Leprechaun

Santa Claus Bust Last Christmas I started work on a (URL) of Santa Claus>. I completed the head and hat, but didn't get any farther than that. Since the holiday came and went, I finished it off as a bust. Click the image for more pictures: (URL) (...) (20 years ago, 11-Apr-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: TCLTC LEGO Brick Sculpture Plaza

(...) Very cool John, I saw this on Brickshelf earlier today and really liked the look of it. I can't wait till we get to see more of the layout. jt (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Super Junkbot!

  Re: Super Junkbot!

(...) Other than wishing you could get the eyes to actually move (or did I miss something?) I (and Nik) think this sculpture is perfect. Great job. I like especially that you were able to get the legs to move. Bravo. Spotlighted. (21 years ago, 13-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
