(...) As unfortunate as it may be, Brad Justus of LD announced (amongst much good news) that... "As it happened, the sales of these items has been so great the past few weeks that we have depleted our stocks. We were not planning on re-manufacturing (...)   Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) They are gone, unfortunatley. I was just about to order mine and it had disapeared from lego.com. I was able to get one, however, for my local FAO Schwartz. To get one, check your local FAO or amazon.com (if they still have any). (23 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.general)

(...) I was going to order one too, but not knowing that it was about to go AWOL, I decided to go for a Metroliner instead. Grrrr! :-) Well, Brad, I'd definitely buy one if it was available again... regards, Chris. (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.general)

(...) it! (...) Well, it's back on S@H and mine has arrived and I've built it. However, I'm a bit bothered by a couple of things. 1. I seem to have a lot of leftover large parts, e.g. 2x8 and 2x6 bricks, but I can't find a missing step that would (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Kerry, I had the same situation--leftover 2x6 and 2x8 bricks. This really suprised me because I bought a damaged one with a gaping hole in the side of the box for 60% off--I figured that if I didn't have the parts, then I'd have a lot of Sand green (...)   Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) Hi Kerry, I had the exact same thing with mine. There is something weird with the design on the back of the head. I had to go over the instructions again and again to make sure I did it right. I still hated the way it looked. I don't know if (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) Yes, it's a gap that is one plate high, and runs across about 6 studs in a jagged way (down-up-down). Kerry (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) No, they're definitely extra - I was surprised at this too. I swapped a couple of bricks for "ordinary colours" with Lar (before building her), thinking I'd have to hide the swapped bricks in there somewhere (which I did), later finding that I (...) The other thing is that on my instructions the Manhattan skyline doesn't seem to show the World Trade Center towers. Is that the case on the instructions on the first release of this set? Kerry (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) I found this photo of the back of her head (URL) few & far between!) It appears there's some kind of thing-ummy on the back of the crown - maybe it's meant to be a hair-tie? My guess is the "crack" is an attempt at modelling the detail in that (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: STATUE OF LIBERTY ?!

(...) As far as I can tell from skyline photos, the view on my instructions is too far right to see the WTC towers anyway. ie, they're off the LHS of the photo. But it's hard to tell - I can't find a photo that looks like it's from that particular (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny)
