I had the same situation--leftover 2x6 and 2x8 bricks. This really suprised
me because I bought a damaged one with a gaping hole in the side of the box
for 60% off--I figured that if I didn't have the parts, then I'd have a lot
of Sand green for miscellaneous stuff...
However, it turns out, no missing parts....it's now sitting on top of my
desk for the rest of cubicleland to see--quite patriotic...
not sure about your hairline fracture--there is a horizontal gap of roughly
a 1x2 plate on the back side..
