Kerry,

I had the same situation--leftover 2x6 and 2x8 bricks.  This really suprised
me because I bought a damaged one with a gaping hole in the side of the box
for 60% off--I figured that if I didn't have the parts, then I'd have a lot
of Sand green for miscellaneous stuff...

However, it turns out, no missing parts....it's now sitting on top of my
desk for the rest of cubicleland to see--quite patriotic...

not sure about your hairline fracture--there is a horizontal gap of roughly
a 1x2 plate on the back side..

What happened with Statue of Liberty on LEGO S&H website ??? I can't find • it!
It seems that it's no more available ! Where can I buy now this set ?

Well, it's back on S@H and mine has arrived and I've built it.

However, I'm a bit bothered by a couple of things.

1. I seem to have a lot of leftover large parts, e.g. 2x8 and 2x6 bricks, but I
can't find a missing step that would have used that collection of bricks.

2. I seem to have a "hairline" fracture visible at the back of the head. As all
the box pictures are taken from the front, it's hard to say if this is how it
supposed to be, or whether I got something wrong.

Anyone else with one care to comment?

Kerry

(...) Yes, it's a gap that is one plate high, and runs across about 6 studs in a jagged way (down-up-down). Kerry (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
