For that, I'd recommend sculpting a rounded roof out of plates. But, if you
want something made from slopes, I have another idea I used on my Mediterranean
windmill.
Try to imagine what a series of 45° corner slopes (or even 30° corner slopes)
can do if fitted on sideways. Okay, only joking. Oh, you tried? Go and have a
quick lie down then... ;-)
Anyway, what you need to do first is cut back the supporting studs against the
back wall to just the middle eight studs, then put tiles on the tops of the
lower walls.
Build an 8-stud wide peak roof section that slopes off to the sides and (using
corner slopes) slopes down to the end of your model. Mount it high up.
Now on one side, add 45° slopes in a sideways SNOT orientation, but keeping the
same 45° slope off and down to the side. You should be able to align the slope
with the top part so the gap doesn't show much. On the end of this section, you
can use corner slopes to make the edge of the roof slant in on the same diagonal
as the wall below. You'll get about half-way along the diagonal.
Now do the same on the other side. Finally, on the end, you need to fit an
8-wide SNOT sloping section that has corner slopes at both ends.
For real class, sink the top roof section by half a plate in height to hide the
change-over from SNOT to upright.
It's extremely hard to imagine, so the best thing is just to try building it.
Build the central peak roof, then add SNOT slopes on all sides to continue the
slope downward.
Mine actually mixes upright slopes with SNOT slopes along the same level on the
roof, which is insanely hard to work out. You'd never get it from just a quick
look at the model.
