Hi all!

I am building a building, with octocal walls. I use hinge bricks anf plates,
which gives me almost 45 degrees walls.

Can anyone help me with a hint for a brick, roof part or anythinbg for a roof
for this?

I've got a suggestion- try wings.

I (very) vaguely recall seeing a MOC, likely a castle one (Anyone in castle know
what I saw?), that used a roof design very similar to what you're trying to make
but the builder used plates, wings and hinges to hold them altogether.  Granted,
the geometry involved in pulling it off would give a migrane but all the
available wing sizes we have today could make it possible.

I too remember seeing a round(ish) building using wings to create a round roof.
However I'm pretty certain it was a railway water tower and was in a fairly
recent Bickshelf gallery of a show. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Tim

Wasn't a railway water tower, but I've done a couple of roofs like
this.  First one was a seven sided building (based on an actual seven
sided bank in Halifax).
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=93772  Uses 8x4 wings.
Next was an octagonal barn (place to hide the code pilot controlling the
cows) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=947891 Uses an
assortment of different wing plates as I was short on them.  They are
held in place by 1x2 hinge bricks on jumper plates.

In such a small space you might be just better off with making a rounded
roof using plates, like the back bit of the chapel here:

figured out how to photograph black well)
