  Classic Space XL

(URL) Hi Folks, I've never built a space ship, so where to start? LEGO Classic Space could be a cool theme to add jet another ship. The famous LL924 is godfather of my LL924 creation in XL or UCS format. The scale is nearly 2:1 and would work fine (...)   The steampunk skiff 'Egregious'

Loosely inspired by some gorgeous SW Sail Barge MOCs on Brickshelf, NELUG's latest [1] Brikwars game featured a steampunk skiff battle set above the desolate Kar'Zuba desert. Every skiff represented a Trading Guild, and upon arrival at the outskirts (...)   Florence Cathedral: Santa Maria del Fiore

Il Duomo, the magnificent ribbed dome of the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, located in Florence Italy. (URL) I've seen this SNOT technique used often on many MOC's but have never seen it used as extensively as in this model. The technique (which (...)   Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Hmmm, I don't remember exactly, but the idea to use that particular element may have been Chris Tracey's, as I credit in (URL) post> using (URL) pic> (from using the Wayback Machine) All of the pics from my post are bad links (unless you (...)   Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Not my invention. Credit to Ross and John or whomever. I just ran with it for a bit. Clever! James Mathis (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

--snip (...) It appears that James Mathis may actually be the inventor (or at least an early adopter) of this techniqe. (URL) See here>. To whoever is responsible for it, thanks! Tim (17 years ago, 29-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Clamp for rear edge of curved canopy

(...) I don't know when I'll find this useful... but I'm pretty sure it will happen. Thanks for sharing. Tim (17 years ago, 22-May-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Clamp for rear edge of curved canopy

I don't know if this really counts as "SNOT," but I was playing around the other night and came up with this technique for gripping the rear edge of the curved 30384 canopies: (URL) It's not an absolutely flush fit, but it's close enough for (...) (...) -- SNIP -- (...) Thanks. I've got to try that now. Also, thanks to the other Tim for the explanation and pics for the concertina wagon. -Paul (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Thanks (...) The other Tim has answered that better than I could. (...) It's a trick Samarth Moray showed me which he thought was invented by Ross or John Neal.   Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) This is the other Tim ;-) The concertina wagon has a solid roof/side in sections that slide inside one another, hence slight differences in size that Tim had worked so hard to reproduce.   Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Like Chris, I too noticed that cool hopper while admiring the lovely SNOT-li-ness of your concertina wagon. (btw, what is a concertina wagon?) Tim, I've been meaning to ask you, since I've noticed it before, how do you do your trucks with the (...) (17 years ago, 20-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Cool, but I did you ever tell us about this one (which shares a gallery with your concertina wagon)? (URL) is also very nice, and I don't think I've seen 1x3 bricks with bow used that way before. Thanks for the inspiration, Chris (17 years ago, 20-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim)

Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(URL) Hi all, This remarkably plain wagon has a deadly secret inside... it's filled with SNOT!!!! I wanted to do the concertina effect very subtly which meant half plate differences in two directions at once in addition to the half plate height (...)   Modest house

Since not every minifig in LEGO city can afford to stay at the Café Corner hotel, I thought it would be nice to have some kind of modest house - no gargoyles, not much colors, nothing fancy; just a plain street house: (2 URLs) gallery> This house (...)   Re: Le Corbusier House in Stuttgart Weissenhof Estate form 1927

Oh my goodness, I really like seeing your work, I am sorry I missed this. I didn't realize. I enjoyed seeing all the details and the way you used so many great parts. Clean design, very well thought out. Great work. - Eric (17 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: Le Corbusier House in Stuttgart Weissenhof Estate form 1927
