Hi Kyle,

I LOVED your theme!
I mean, I never thought I'd ever see any Roman stuff *by LEGO*, but like you
say, Rome was one of the most influential civilizations in History. So it is
quite logical to have this civ prtrayed. And how nicely, must I say!
Two building tips:
#1- Try short swords, if you want a better historical accuracy. The romans
used short, pointy swords to "spike" rather than to "cut" their opponents. I
understand this is difficult to do with LEGO parts, though.
#2- Will you be doing any Auxiliary Cavalry? Those guys weren't Roman, but
used to be on every Legion. The awkard is that they had no stribes (?), and
I know nothing about their weaponry (sorry...).

For what I understand, this is a never ending theme: from these minifigs and
the ones from other peoples you mentioned, you can depart to make their
houses, ships, public buildings,... possibilities are almost endless, I
believe even bigger than in Castle.
I wish you all the best in developing this idea even furter!

Pedro (yeah, I have a tiny Roman percent in me... and Celt, and much more! :-)

So here is the ancient newsgroup! Thanks for the kind comments! I hope to evolve this theme successfully as well. Perhaps not to the greatest extent that I would like. There will probably be some sets with cameo appearances by the Carthaginians, (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.build.ancient)
