    less messy getting rid of the print on minifigs —Carl Catuogno
   Hi Everyone, I have been trying to take off some of the print on some of my minifigs to try and put my own custom logo on them. i have tried the many ways some people here on lugnet have suggested and here are the results.... 1.X-acto knife- I tried (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

     Brasso... or any petroleum based (non pumice) hand cleaner used for cleaning greasy hands. GoJo and Fast Orange used to make something like this- I'm not sure if they still do. Turpentine also works... EC (24 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

   Hi CJ, (...) Well, the Xacto does leave marks. It's probably most useful for small, detailed removals and not total-print remover.    (...) try (...) I've had good results taking a small metal nail file to minifigs and plates. Unless you're touching the pieces or looking *real* close, you don't notice the alterations... (24 years ago, 20-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

   (...) Good idea! I'll bet the results are similar to the X-acto knife... I get some scratches but they're unnoticable from as much as 20 cm away... unless you stick your eye on it, it's pretty obsecure. <Uck... gory visions of me taking my eye out (...)    (...) I dunno, Shiri. This is pretty close to the old "injury to the eye" motif forbidden in comics some years ago. Too thrilling for young readers!
