Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to take off some of the print on some of my minifigs to try
and put my own custom logo on them. i have tried the many ways some people
here on lugnet have suggested and here are the results....
1.X-acto knife- I tried using an x-acto knife on an old fireman torso to get
an all black torso i succesfully removed all of the print but i was
dissapointed to find a bunch of icky streaks where the print used to be so I
didnt use that method anymore.
2. Nail polish remover- I remember someone might have suggested using nail
polish remover to erase some of the print. I took a q-tip and dabbed a little
Nail polish remover on the q-tip so i could take off those things on lukes
belt. i rubbed it on good but it re-settled into a really ugly pattern so I
figured that was worse than the X-acto knife but luckily no streaks :)

Does anyone have any less messy methods to removes the print??
Thanks,
Cj The confused

Brasso... or any petroleum based (non pumice) hand cleaner used for cleaning greasy hands. GoJo and Fast Orange used to make something like this- I'm not sure if they still do. Turpentine also works... EC (25 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Hi CJ, (...) Well, the Xacto does leave marks. It's probably most useful for small, detailed removals and not total-print remover. (For example, for taking off a microphone off the Jet face the Xacto is excellent.) <snip> (...) Brasso works well (...) (25 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)
