Hmm, I guess I'm alone in my nerdy and somewhat disturbing devotion to these
tv shows. My quest for a Buffy buddy continues. Anyhoo, I bought a new
printer a few days ago and made some progress with these guys while snowed
in here in NJ. I just have to make a few custom torsos and then it's on to
some sets (cemetery, Bronze, dorm rooms, etc). I ended up using just 3 of
the 10 decals sets I printed (I usually need many many more for trial and
error), leaving some spare ones. If you'd like a set (of face decals only,
you supply your own figures) drop me a line. You can send me a SASE and I'll
drop them in the mail gratis. If you're not a classic Smiley kind of
builder, the human faces are generic enough IMO to be regular townies. The
decals are clear water-slide decals (the kind used in plastic models like
those from Tamiya and Monogram/Revell), so keep that in mind if you are
interested (you might need decal set and you'll definitely need a clear
acrylic spray to seal the decals to the heads).

I used CorelDRAW to create the designs as vector graphics instead of
bitmaps, so they scaled down without losing any detail. I printed them with
a new printer, a Canon i4000 PIXMA. I cannot say enough good things about
this printer. It surpasses my old Epson in every way, and after some
experimenting with the decal paper, the final results were super crispy.

Well, hope you enjoy them (link to updated page below).

Hi everyone,
Palisades recently scored the license to one of my all-time favorite TV • shows,
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (RIP), and are making Kubrick-style "block" • figures. I
admit I picked up all the series I figures, but I still prefer my much • cuter
LEGO minifigs. So, I made my own!

Hi Bianca, Minifigs with noses creep me out. It's an artistic choice, making the head more realistic, less iconic than Smiley. I guess I don't like the clash of square head (non-realistic) and more realistic features. I have this same problem with (...) (19 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.parts.mod)
