The "wooden jet fighter" I think you're talking about is the He162
(Salamander), which *did* fly, however poorly. They even had an
Erprobungskommando outfitted with the things, but they were strictly
forbidden from engaging enemy aircraft. Or are you thinking of a
different plane?
Another plane I'd like to see: The Ba349 Natter. The FW189 is
another one I like--asymmetry!
