Thanks to some new parts off BrickBay and a little creative part-shuffling, I've redone my Heinkel He-219, complete with bubble canopy, tricycle landing-gear, and enough dark-grey plates to finally cover the wings. Gary, I must say, i like this new incarnation better than the last one. The previous canopy just didn't work for me. If i may offer a few suggestions though, i would say the only areas that need a bit of work are the engines and wingtips. - i think (...) (23 years ago, 16-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) Good point; I think I could do this with the current structure by adding 45 slopes to the top of the wing, and shifting everything up by one brick. I could also lengthen them in the same way. (...) I had a similar problem in an early version of my Navy patrol bomber, and fixed it when I realized that my wings were too thin. I ended up making the wings 3 bricks thick, and the scale was much more accurate. Now your wings won't be nearly (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Normally, I'd just sit back and silently admire someone's efforts, but as model aircraft are a long-time obsession of mine (35+ years) I have to say: I am in awe. Given the inherent limitations imposed by the medium, this is amazing. (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)

(...) Thank you very much. The model is fairly front heavy (engines and all), so it balances very easily on the tricycle landing-gear. I did have to shift the side gear to towards the rear of the plane in order to balance properly. As for the (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.military)
