Thanks. I’m currently working on a Mk. 2 version of the 25lb field gun, with the gun having a mounting that looks closer to what the WW2 ones had. I am also trying to get the traversal wheel to retract for transport. At present the wheel gets removed and placed upside down on top of the carriage. (Then I need to build the ammo trailer and Quad (and that will be a real bugger, with all those anoying slopes :( ))

I’m looking forward to seeing the MK2 etc.

Well...I’m working with this mini-fig as he is fairly close (and as close as I can get without stickers/painting/defacing mini-figs) to a WW2 Australian digger. I have also made use of another adventurers minifig for the Armored Corps, and these piccies should pop up soon. The special forces uses a “new” minifig or two, but in general I think the LEGO released ones seem to do the job.

I can understand you wanting to see a more modern soldier, but I’m working as an Aussie to create an Aussie feeling army...But at least slouch hats are fairly common :) (I’d hate to be trying to do a U.S. soldier (use a cowboy hat?) and British (The top-hat just doesn’t look right on the field of combat.))

I definitely wouldn’t want to deface or use stickers with my minifigs either. I don’t disagree with others making their own sticker designs etc and I have seen some great designs and some great customs. But I guess I am becoming a bit more of a LEGO purist where my own models are concerned. :) ( I have modified a canoe once, but that was/is the last time.)

As for Johnny Thunder. Yeah, he is the best fit for your army, and I use a lot of adventurers figs for soldiers. With one exception, the star wars sandmen - if you stick a neckerchief around the front you hide the real star wars features and are left with a fantastic WW2 soldier with bandoliers. But then you probably know this already. :)

Anyway, looking forward to more pictures!

Chris
