Yes--the "straightness" was also my big concern. The plane
in Temple of Doom does look like a very heavily modified
Horten wing, so if you dig around on Luft46 you should be
able to get the specific geometries in drawings. The Horten
wings did not, however, have the variable vertical angle that
the Lucasfilm one does, and that adds an additional dimension
of annoyance for the builder.
One thought would be to build SNOT--build the wings out from
the sides. That's tricky because getting good tensile strength
is a challenge, but it would help from the standpoint of re-
creating a gentler sweep. Another option would be to use the
2x2/1x4 plate hinges and some times to create a "pocket wing"
leading edge, where the wing surfaces are simply plates but
you have a leading and trailing edge totally untethered in
their geometry.
The sweeps of Second World War aircraft are the hardest things
to match, in my opinion--it's why I haven't yet built an Arrow.

I have tried building wings with SNOT before with reasonable success: (URL) I hadn't thought about SNOT when I was building "the wing" but I think it would allow for more tapering. Bit worried about the (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)
