To sail on a dream on a crystal clear ocean
To ride on the crest of a wild raging storm
To work in the service of life and living
In search of the answers of questions unknown
To be part of the movement and part of the growing
Part of beginning to understand
Aye, Calypso the places that youve been to,
The things that youve shown us,
the stories you tell-
Aye, Calypso I sing to your spirit
The men that served you so long and so well!
Like the dolphin who guides you, you bring us beside you
To light up the darkness and show us the way
For though we are strangers in your silent world
To live on the land we must learn from the sea
To be true as the tide and free as a wind swell
Joyful and loving in letting it be
Aye, Calypso the places that youve been to,
The things that youve shown us,
the stories you tell-
Aye, Calypso I sing to your spirit
The men that served you so long and so well!
Calypso was the research ship of Jacques Cousteau, and went all over the world
exploring and documenting. This microscale model is a proof of concept for
another version...

| (...) Cool! The cutter shape you've coaxed out of the plates is perfect and using the 1x1 smoke tiles looks amazing. My fave part...the little sea 'copter. How fun is that? Looks like a delicious candy I could eat. Great build Joe...sell the design (...) (20 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

| Joe, I really like your rendition of Calypso. I remember watching "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau" as a kid - that model brought back memories. And the overall playability reminds me of the (gasp) Tente ships I had as a kid, too. Play on! (...) (20 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

| Hey Joe, The boat is great and I love love LOVE that helicopter. My only suggestion (and this a minor one) is that I think that a 1x4 tile would be better as the helicopter rotor than the 1x4 plate. Great work! Bruce (20 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

| I once saw the actual ship sailing into Halifax Harbour as a kid and watched the shows of course. Your little model and the lyrics had me humming the tune and remembering the plastic model kit of Calypso I built as a kid. Are you useing instructions (...)
