After I created the
Little Bot Series I always wanted to create the next generation Mecha that
was more flexible and poseable than my previous creations. I spent Only Two
Days building it. Two 8 hour building sessions. So thats why the Mecha
looks straight forward and lean. I was pleasantly surprised at the out come.
I was also inspired by
Christopher Snead
, and the Macro Bot is a direct Ode to him. (Ill get that Palm Plant Hand
Stand soon enough!) :P - Im forever teasing him. ;)

When I was building Jama I had the good fortune in recieving a nice donation of clear worm gear
boxes, like the kind found in the Vision Command sets.
I used as many as I could on Jama and I had a bunch left over. I used these
clear worm gear boxes as the basis of the Macro Bots Joints:
The Hands are pretty
simple, but I was surprised that they could support the upper body when I
posed the Macro Bot like
this.
The Head is pretty
simple and the Macro Bot has no pilot. It was a variation of the
Fly-Bot , of which I took
apart to start this project. I figure this would be a true Robot, so no
Cockpit was built
in. :P
All in all, Im really pleased with its articulation. 15 Worm Gears total.
Its a blast to play with and pose.

One of the things I wanted to prepare in time for this post was an exploded
view of the Mechs joint modules. I plan to do that as part of a Mecha Visual
Refference that I am preparing.
Great, so building this was fast and fun and I was able to meet the goals
I had.
Enjoy and PLMKWYT!

BTW, Im not gonna make 7 of these in different colors!

This is sweet Eric! As everyone has said it seems way more refined than your
other mecha in the past.
I love the teeth on the feet! Very cool touch.
The bionicle (?) piece that connects the torso to the hips is sweet. The
skinnyness of it adds alot I think. The round parts in the area add alot too.
I also agree with whats been said about the joint turny things, maybe you could
cover them with something or make them shorter? Theyre so small though that it
really doesnt take anything away from the overall model in my opinion.
I like the head too, cool stuff.
Awesome work as usual Eric,
