Hey guys,
It's been forever since I posted a mecha, but here goes. This is the one I
showed at BricksWest03. Most of you have probably seen it already but I did
post a few "official" pics recently.

When building things like this I would be rather chocked if it we're not
"forever" between the posts!

The dragon body proper consists of click hinge formed octogons offset with
technic parts and connected to each other via technic turntables. Then the
whole structure has been "skinned" using Bionicle masks.

Yikes!

Overall I'm happy with the project with one exception. The hips, while
supporting all the weight, are a failure. Stresses on the screw gear cause
it to slip, thus making it impossible to fully extend the legs allowing the
creature to stand more upright. The result is what I term the "hunched over
chicken look".

As Adrian recently showed, poultry mix well with Mech!

As is normally the case with my models this one does not photograph well. I
am, however, taking more pictures and will post closeups and such soon.

More light would do the trick I think. If you have not looked already try to
see if your camera (if it's digital) can be set to manual ISO settings, select
the lowest number (often 100) and use a tripod. If possible use an external
trigger (some PC software that ships with cameras can do this) or an internal
camera timer. This is to avoid shaking the camera while pressing the shutter
button.

Amazing! I really love your work Bryce and I hope to one day make stuff in this
genre and size. I don't know anything about Gundams or other Mech genres but
your work is biological looking and truly scary! Where do you draw inspiration
from? Or is it all nightmares as you claim? :)

Torment is a good name, it looks haunted and the chains/flex hoses work very
well. And the masks! OMG! If that does not scream haunted and tourmented I
don't know what will!

Best regards,

A quick synopsis: I wanted to fuse Bionicle with (...) (22 years ago, 23-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha) !
