Hmm, I dont recall seeing a speeder bike during the Hoth scenes, but I have
noticed one thing: 3 new minifigs, prolly going to be very much in demand,
and I would guess they are only going to be available in this $89.99 set...

I can't remember exactly, but were some speeder bikes added in the Special
Edition?

As for the new figures, the driver just looks like a Stormtrooper torso and
helmet with light grey arms and legs - I converted my two Tie-Fighter
Stormtroopers like this a while ago.

The helmet of the Snowtrooper looks weird.  Why doesn't it have a longer bib
at the front, down over the chest?  These look more like white Ninja hoods
or something, though the eye holes are different.

Still, the AT-AT looks like a fantastic model.  I love the angled plates,
and the ankles and feet look brilliant.

The only thing is the pose it's in - it's wrong.  If you look at how it's
standing, two of its knees are bent backward.  Although the knees should be
free to bend either way, if you watch the film they always bend normally,
like human knees.

Small quadraped animals (dogs, for example) have reversed knees on the back
legs, for running.  Very large ones (elephants, or dinosaurs like
diplodocus) have/had reversed knees on the front legs, for better balance.
The only quadraped that walks with four forward knees is two men in a
pantomime horse, but that's how AT-ATs walk.

(...) Weeelllll, technically, that's not right. All mammals have knees that bend in the same basic direction - as long as you have a consistent definition for a knee.
