New builder and new mech (Mechastruct Entry: SRX-032 "Rook") —Chris Searing
Hello, My name is Chris Searing. I have been lurking around LUGNET for a few years now. I finally decided to show myself , mostly because the Mechastruct contest urged me to do so. I have been building my own mechs (yes, mechs. NOT mecha, although (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I forgot one thing... The "Rook" is for the military 8" and over category. Chris (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New builder and new mech (Mechastruct Entry: SRX-032 "Rook") —Chris Maddison
(...) Welcome Chris! Always good to see new designs. This one is quite impressive for a first post. I really dig the color scheme, except there seems to be a tad bit too much black. Maybe I only dislike this because black doesn't photograph well. (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) I seem to have a lot of black in my collection. I know it does not photograph well, but I think it is cool, especially with colors such as green and tan. I like the reactor, too. It took me a while to get it to look right. (...) The legs are (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

power to the neophytes! welcome, welcome. i'm new here too, and it's good to see more mech-ers coming out of the closet (or is it hangar?) love your mech, especially the chain gun (chain guns are our friends...he,he,he). nice proportions and color (...)          Re: New builder and new mech (Mechastruct Entry: SRX-032 "Rook") —Chris Searing
(...) The chain gun was actually the newest weapon I added, but I also think it suits the Rook the best. Chain guns further add to that "don't mess with me" attitude to a mech. [Ooooh...really...REALLY... b-b-big...gun... (slightly famous last words (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New builder and new mech (Mechastruct Entry: SRX-032 "Rook") —Chris Searing
(...) Thanks, Tony. I'll try to post more soon. I actually have two more entries that I will post by the end of the day. (...) It is pretty boxy. I wanted it to be a little boxy from the start, but you are right about it is hard not to build a box (...) (22 years ago, 24-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hey Chris, welcome to the mob. I particuarily like your use of the chain links on the heels. Great job! Mark Neumann (22 years ago, 24-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New builder and new mech (Mechastruct Entry: SRX-032 "Rook") —Chris Searing
(...) Glad you like the chain idea. I came across that because the only thing that would work as a wheel (as a secondary movement system) and touch even with the foot was the gear. They looked boring so I put chain on them. Chris (22 years ago, 24-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
