Here she is folks, Dragonwolf:

This should probably be in the military 8" and taller category.

**********story************

"Hitman, stand by." Raptor’s voice was a little edgy sounding over the com
link. "I’m going to eliminate your problem." Hitman heeled his Butch around
and followed Raptor out of the Maze’s entrance.

"Raptor, shouldn’t we regroup?" Hitman only heard silence from the
mechwarrior in the towering Dragonwolf. Its movements fascinated him. Bit,
but agile. He understood Dragonwolf’s power plant design was taken from
space fleet designs. He watched as the head cocked side to side as if the
beast was examining its prey. The tail feathered through the air, helping
balance the mass of the mighty mech. The overall effect of the thing gave
Hitman the feeling that this 150 foot tall war machine was going to eat you.

The pursuing mechs stopped with the appearance of this new quarry. Hitman
liked to think that the enemies’ com was flooded with many comments of
bodily waste. Raptor’s Dragonwolf stood, swaying slightly, head tilting,
eyeing each of the intruders in turn. Hitman was about to say something when
he noticed that the main guns of Dragonwolf were tracking one of the heavier
mechs.

Hitman took a moment to size the situation up. One Dragonwolf and one
damaged Butch versus two heavy and three medium mechs. The Butch’s control
panel showed moderate armor damage, and all systems operational. Hitman
checked in a pocket right behind his head rest, "yep, last will and
testament in place. I suppose I’m ready to do some ass kicking."

"Traitors of the clan," Raptor was broadcasting over an open channel, "I
know you have been persuaded by false leadership to execute this coup.
Surrender now and return your loyalties where they belong. Power down now,
or die."

Moments or months passed, Hitman wasn’t sure which.

"So be it," said Raptor as his chain guns lit up and summarily ripped apart
one of the heavy mechs. The enemy was knocked to the ground, but that didn’t
stop Raptor. He continued to drill on the heavy mech until it exploded as
one of it’s ammunition bays was breached. With the enemies reeling in shock,
Raptor launched his Dragonwolf at his opponents.

Spite the assault mech’s size it appeared to glide across the terrain. It
moved side to side avoiding minor obstacles and making a bee line at the
other heavy mech. Raptor fired, hammered the mech still reeling from the
explosion of his lance mate. Projection cannons and laser fire hammered the
machine. The pilot, from panic or fear, ejected rather than face this threat.

The three smaller mechs had scattered. They moved to flank the Dragonwolf
while he was busy assaulting their comrades. Hitman figured this was a good
time to get involved, draw a little fire from his ally. He urged his mech
forward firing lasers and gaining one of the mech’s attention.

After finishing off the two heavy mechs the Dragonwolf bolted towards and
into the dense forest line. His pursuers fired jump jets, and tried to hit
the Dragonwolf from above. But the trees proved too dense and soon the large
mech was somewhere in the wood.

Hitman found himself dogfighting the enemy mech. He gunned the throttle and
ran to encircle the enemy. Missle fire rocked the Butch. Hitman turned and
released a fury of laser fire to return the favor. Hitman’s aim was true as
ever, missed completely.

It was not long until Hitman found himself in an all too familiar tactical
situation, retreat.

The other two mechs were approaching the tree line to hunt down their
quarry. They ran at full speed to get into the forest where their small size
and high maneuverability would serve them well. Unfortunately as they got
close to entering the forest Dragonwolf came out to greet them. Chain gun
fire ripped apart one of the mechs and heavy particle cannon fire eliminated
the other.

Raptor saw Hitman running from the last of the enemy squad. He took
Dragonwolf into a full run behind the remaining opponent. Raptor closed on
the small mech easily, he was too busy chasing down Hitman. The Dragonwolf
leapt at the small mech and pinned it to the ground under it’s massive feet.
Raptor played with the enemy grinding the legs into litter. Laser fire came
from the crippled mech, and Raptor responded with fire from his belly guns
into the cockpit of the enemy, finishing it off.

"I had that under control you know," said Hitman.

"I saw that. I was just heading back to base and this guy got in my way.
Really," said Raptor.

"What did you mean by traitors of the clan?"

"Don’t you know? Where’ve you been, in a cave?"

"Actually, there’s a nice oasis to the east. Mai Tais and sunshine my
friend. But I said to myself; you know, I bet those guys need me. So I left
paradise and came to find you."

"Caught in patrols eh? Well, ‘what’s going on’ is elements of third claws
are uprising, trying to capture clan territories and break away. I suspect
General Konmann is commanding them. He’s always been something of prima dona."
"I heard he was a royal jack…"

"Yeah, you heard right," interrupted Raptor, "and I suspect we’re going to
see him soon enough. Follow me into the mazes, I lead you do base Hitman."

"Ok, I’m following you."

To be continued?

Mark That is quite large! How tall is it? I assume it is primarily worm gears for the joints right? Wow. I love the detail in the head. Also the powerplant section is really quite nice. I like the miniguns and the power plant the best. speaking of the engine, do you choose parts that are more cosmetic to the engine look, or do you actually build it as if each part (...) Woah, when I first saw this my jaw dropped. I just love how you give your mechs so much personality, Mark. This one for some reason looks especially nasty and cruel. Also, the guns... 'all' the guns, are just fab, no doubt about that. I also like (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
