There is a fine Gundam on Brickshelf made by Josh Opotzner:

According to previous posts Josh was interested in creating a Wing Zero and a
Deathscythe Hell among other things.  Does anyone know if he has a web site?  I
would be very interested to see other takes on Lego Gundams from Gundam Wing
(especially after my horrible ZERO).

Have fun!

Ach!  I never noticed this post!  The recent Gundam license "news" had me
floating around build.mecha and look what I found.

Believe it or not, I actually scrapped that Wing Gundam after seeing your
Zero, newly inspired!  You gave me some VERY nice ideas...why didn't I think
to use the big green dome in the chest?!  Or the canopies from the same set
it came from?!  And it would never have crossed my mind to use a trans-blue
canopy for the cockpit, even though its an excellent shape, but after seeing
what you did, the clear color just seems acceptable.  Whoo, good thing I
came across those Hydro Search Subs for $15 at Wal-Mart way back :)

I have a crummy limitation though.  I don't have a great deal of stuff.  At
least not to build things in the range of mini-fig scale gundams (what'll
that be, 3-4 feet high?). But, you showed me you can still accomplish
something if you're diligent, even if it won't be perfect...and you have to
use pirate ladder pieces in the shoulders...well, I don't think I'll go that
far :)

I have a decent amount, about 250 or so sets, but simply collecting whatever
sets you like in this fashion, you get a little bit of a wide variety of
pieces.  For something like this, you need a lot of certain types of pieces.
I started a few portions of the Zero (basically intending to make something
much like Bobby's but fully decked out) but it dwindled off when I ran into
problems and started playing Starcraft, upon which I started tinkering with
Starcraft ideas.  I had some ideas floating around like to make it
electronic, with non fibered fiber optic boxes with motors directly
attatched for vulcan cannons.

I see the Wing isn't on brickshelf anymore.  Frankly I didn't like it too
much.  I thought it rather stank, too blocky and simplistic.  While I've
scrapped the model long ago, I'm sure the pics are on one of these floppies,
so if anybody wants me to upload them again I will.  The one thing I was
very proud of and liked the best about the model was the head.  I built it
from the feet up, and during the entire building process I dreaded having
nothing left to do but the head.  But when the time came, I sat down for 20
minutes and had a wonderful Zero head.  Definately my favorite aspect.  Oh
and also for the beam saber I had used the lightsaber from a 12" Episode 1
figure :)  Now that the Darth Vader set is around though, looks like we have
a Lego solution.

I pray by the light of a 9v lego light/w battery pack that the Gundam
License is not a joke.  I know the picture Sun Yun posted is, but hopefully
thats only him taking advantage of the situation.  I'm gonna have to wait
and see what all this is about before I go making any more mecha.
