Hi there!

I've seen some pictures of LEGO Mechas and I must say they do look
awesome!

Is there a good way to enter the world of Mechas? I really don't know
anything about them except the LEGO MOC's I've seen and honestly, >most of the language goes over my head and beyound :)

Hi Tobbe and welcome,

Check out this site and the links too.  This will give you a sample of the
Japanese stuff.

and here's a link to the grittier mechs

I'm currently into Technic but I'd like to test Mechas as side project
for a while. I've been thinking about trains and town but they don't
"talk" to me and seem to take a lot of space in question, space I
don't have...

Any advice on learning about the world of Mechas (both LEGO and
non-LEGO) and good newbie building is welcome :)

Just start slamming pieces together in a humanoid form (there are other
forms like insectoid or animal or monster) and see what you come up with.
Personally I've been working with the Bionicle stuff  so you might try that
since it's Technic and by the pics on your site, it looks like you're pretty
comfortable with it.  You can check out some of my stuff here, maybe that
will give you an idea of what can be built with Technic.

I've sort of come to the conclusion that Mechas are some form of
"shell" for humans (or minifigs) to give better streanght etc. in
battle and work in some form of future (or remote) space. Am I right
so far? Just an insight on my level of knowledge 8-)

That's a pretty good observation.  Mostly they're the future equivilant of
samurai, knights, soldiers or creatures .  Most have pilots (that gives them
their soul) and some have A.I. (artificial intellegence).

With best regards from Sweden,

I'm pretty new here myself and I think that there are others that are more
qualified to answer your questions but that's my take on it.

I'm interested to see what you come up with!
