(...) I've been working on a couple of things. Mostly, doing more R&D on joint systems. Here's a new (?) way to stiffen those 1x4 plate hinges: 1) Find yourself som wire. (...) How do you measure that kind of thing, anyway? I mean, I believe you, I do.... But that is a sweet idea. I've found that putting paper between the two pieces stiffens the joint nicely. However, I suspect your method allows for a greater weight load. (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Very clever Dr. Snead! That little slit just needs that wire huh...interesting! Another anadote (sp?) from the Dr.! So, you were able to get those poses using that technique, pretty neat.
