| (...) Interesting, I have been toying with the throwbot gear boxes for the past 3 months and I am not happy with the end result. There seems to be 2 to 3 degree freedom of free rotation allowed in the gear because the worm gear is a tad too far out (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

| (...) I've found that the throwbot gear boxes eliminate the usual sliding of the worm gear on its shaft, making joints more solid.
