Zero 5 - Ground Attack —Brian Cooper
One of two new ground attack gundams I'm working on. (URL) destroyed 01 to build this new model (05). It expands on the joint technology of 04 with the addition of very strong geared knee joints (rather than a triangular locking arm arrangement). My (...)      Looks great so far Brian! Can't wait for more pics. I'm sad to hear this will be one of your last Gundams. Sigh... :-( (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Once I finished my Falcon, my StarWars motivation declined - I'll never build anything related to StarWars again. But there are plenty of mecha themes to try, no reason to stick with one. "K" (22 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Zero 5 - Ground Attack —Borislav Marinov
(...) Interesting, I have been toying with the throwbot gear boxes for the past 3 months and I am not happy with the end result. There seems to be 2 to 3 degree freedom of free rotation allowed in the gear because the worm gear is a tad too far out (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Zero 5 - Ground Attack —Brian Cooper
(...) I've found that the throwbot gear boxes eliminate the usual sliding of the worm gear on its shaft, making joints more solid. But the real secret to using them to make a super rigid joint is... nope, can't tell you ;-) (...) Mazinger, Getta (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Zero 5 - Ground Attack —Christopher Snead
(...) The head definitely reminds me of "01", like it was reincarnated into a gundam w/ advanced technology... (...) I sure hope that you keep at least one gundam intact; it would sadden me to know that nothing would remain of these groundbreaking (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Zero 5 - Ground Attack —Brian Cooper
(...) I think I'll keep the final four of them intact, the two space combat types and the two ground combat types, locked in eternal combat... (...) I have a little Mazinger model too. Since I've kept all my old lego and it got mixed in with the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

WOW! looks great, we need more pics though! :^D I love those colours, very nice, usually it's red on grey, but you've done grey on red, nice! Looks great as usual, I look forward to seeing more of it! -Geordan- (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Zero 5 - Ground Attack —Brian Cooper
(...) Thanks. I'm in building mode now. When I finish the 06 gundam then I'll update my website with more pics and conclude the dark gundam saga. "K" (22 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
