    something new —Stuart Immonen
Hello all, This one's been done for a while (in fact it's already been destroyed in favour of something newer and perhaps weirder), so sorry if the photos are poor, not much I can do now.... anyway, find it here: (URL) welcome comments positive (...)         Re: something new —John Carroll
wow. This is real cool. I love the hip skirt and the feet and legs. The head looks like it has quite a few degrees' of freedom. is it on an old school b&s joint or something? I also think the arms look pretty cool. The Shoulder armor is (while (...) (23 years ago, 18-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: something new —Stuart Immonen
John, Thanks for the comments and the critique. I see what you mean about the pose. I didn't even think about the order of the photos, since (when I check out others' pages) I usually just pick the ones I like most... The similarity of the shoulder (...)          Re: something new —John Carroll
Heh, Well It's still my least favorite part but you did a great job based on that image. What anime (manga?) is that from? I'm glad that you didn't do the little tiny arms ;) I like the propotions of your mech better. while that mech is neat, it's (...) (23 years ago, 18-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: something new —Borislav Marinov
(...) Wow! Now your MS makes sence. You should have posted this image in the first place. I am very interested to know from which manga/series you got this from. I should add that you did an excellent job in copying the "feel" of that mech! (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: something new —Stuart Immonen
(...) Is that like an M.O. ? The source material is from (as I posted on the site) a Japaneses comic called City in Labyrinth by Makoto Kobayashi, who has worked on Z GUNDAM and ZZ GUNDAM, GIANT ROBO, YAMATO 2520 and SUPER ATRAGON, desinged mech (...)         Re: something new —Mladen Pejic
AWESOME! I love it, Stuart! The torso is great, as are the protruding flaps (if they are flaps?). Very nicely done. I especially liked how you mentioned in another post that anime mecha have exaggerated features... This is definitely true. Anime (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: something new —Stuart Immonen
Mladen, Thanks! Yes, I find that the exaggeration makes up a lot of the personality, expecially at small sizes. I don't have as much lego as a lot of the builders here (and I'm constantly "borrowing" form my son), so I can't do a lot of detail-style (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

        Re: something new —Dave Johann
(...) Wow! Stuart, you've done it again! The way gendarme curves around the corners, and extends out in all the right places makes this one of my favorite mecha I've ever seen. Normally, I'm not a big fan of single-colored mecha, but the shaping of (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Thanks Dave, it's especially gratifying to hear when someone likes something despite themselves! :) Your comments are much appreciated. stuart (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

        Re: something new —Geordan Hankinson
Awesome Stuart! The mega proportioned body and ankles make it look very tough, and very animeish. I love the air fin things coming out of the torso! Those rule! and the little gun coming out of it's middle, aw sweet, this is a very cool mecha, you (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: something new —Stuart Immonen
(...) Hey, thanks ! (...) Thanks again. The "fins" (long protrusions) are intended to be sensor pods, since this is a land-based mech. It was an interesting challenge to get them to come out at non-right angles at that scale... (...) yes, I do, and (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

        Re: something new —Bryce McGlone
Stuart, Wow! Very nice mecha. This one really reads as solid planes and form. The shoulders are particularly well done. I really like that the overall shape isn't lost in greeblies (sp). I look forward to the "weirder" one. Later, Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: something new —Stuart Immonen
(...) Yes, without colour or paraphernalia hanging off this one, I strove to get a good balance of shapes and sizes instead. Once the head and torso were complete, the rest fell into place a lot easier. <tease>And, hmm, yes... I'm going in a (...) (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

        Re: something new —Eric Sophie
Stuart, I'm glad your a part of this group. As you post and build more we learn more about you. In particular I've noticed that you said you have a son, from which you borrow pcs. sometimes to create. This strikes me as a person who is commited to (...)         Re: something new —Stuart Immonen
Eric, Thanks very much! I enjoy this little community a great deal. I lurked for a good long time before deciding to count myself among you (the quality of building here is _very_ intimidating) and I'm happy to be one of the bunch. I am extremely (...)
