Thanks Eric. It's strange to think that even with all the pics I shared with
you behind the scenes you were still suprised. You will admit that I was
trying to warn you ;-) Maybe you were just scared of him? Just remember
hands and feet away from the mouth.

IMO you were a part of the process from the concept to the design problems
to the finish. Add that you and I talk enough that you understand what I was
trying to do and I think you share my experience to some degree. (was that
too poorly worded?)

Let's break down the inspirations:
> The body segments are awseome looking and are so detailed.
Taken from the Sentiel (sp) mecha deals in the Matrix. Especially the
smaller legs and such underneath. I wanted to get that "chatter" feel of the
small legs on the belly. (to everyone: Eric suggested that I do this to the
Q mecha. I told him I'd try it on a new mecha instead.) So this was the start.
> The Riders are a trully great touch.
An idea made much later. We were talking about Dune and I said "hey a rider
would be really cool." Then I made 5. Only three are riding though.
> The head is out of someones nightmares.
From aliens obviously. It's kind of a squat queen head design. Also where I
got the idea of no eyes. It hunts by scent mostly. I just didn't know how to
make those vents. Dave was over one night and I started fiddling with the
arches and the head was born. I also used some of the old Alien toys as help.
> The legs are fantastic.
I really pained over the leg design. I went through about 10. Talon (as Bram
suggested) looked too avian. Then the weight problem too. I liked the "boom
boom" look of elephant feet, so I went with that.
> The overall look of the BMW is just so eerie.
Going for organic here a la Sophie. Much inspiration from both his Mantis
and Big Red Robot....both flowing organic designs. I was trying to work a
bit more out of the box so to speak.
> The shapes and patterns flow thruout.
There is a ton of repeated motifs. They are just different sizes and colors.
It's an easy design concept that tends to tie all the parts together. It
also makes the whole design gell together a bit more.
> The use of parts and elements is just plain cool.
As I said before to Dave....VIVA La Brickbay!!! I could not have built this
without Brickbay. The idea is get as many (100-200) of about 6 parts and
make shapes with them over and over.

LOL! Ironic that now I keep sitting in front of Red Bot now! I was out there
last night with only the moonlight on it. That thing has so much presence!
Man is it awesome!

Ahhhh story time was fun. Maybe some time I'll make a little animated deal
like I was telling you.

The color is supposed to be white as "bone", light grey as tough but
flexible "skin", red as inner fleshy stuff, dark grey as hard "armour"
shell, and black as viens. Mostly the light grey and white don't want to
play well together.

You're doing the same thing, Eric. Only your stuff is light years ahead. I
don't even have words for some of the stuff you're doing.

Thanks Eric. As you know I am sooo Lego drained. Stupid thing was hard as
hell to make! :-) Oh the pains we go through to make Lego! It seems too
silly sometimes. And then you get a shape/ part combo in your head...
Later bro,
