Time for me to weigh in on your fantastic new mecha, Geordan.

Well it's about time I got this up, It's the PMC Kannon version 21,
seriously! this thing has been completely modified 21 times over! I'm very
happy with the way this guy turned out though, it's safe to say that this is
my best mech ever, definitely. I spent tons of time on everything rather
than just rushing it all, three and half weeks is total production time.

Looks like you put the time to good use. Some of the best mecha I've seen take a
LOT of time to complete from start to finish and the tend to change quite a bit
in the interim. I'm putting the finishing touches on something that's taken 4
months to build due to other projects getting in the way.

Now about the mech itself, I took a few pics of just the legs, because I
think that they rule, the torso and the arms kind of ruined it a bit, but oh
well, I think I did my best with what I have. I don't like the arms at all,
I worked soooo hard on them but they just didn't turn out, I would love to
hand off the legs to a pro and see what they could do as far as bulding the
rest.

I love these legs! They are reminiscent of Mladen's Azriel legs and Pat
Justison's j60 mecha. I'll agree that the arms don't measure up, but that's
acommon problem for mech builders...one part always seems to be lacking.

This time round I tried a few new techniques, SNOT being the most prominent,
I used it anywhere I could. The light grey half technic pegs with the stud
on the end are now definitely my fav. piece, can't live with out them,
you'll see this even more on my other stuff still to be picturized.

And you used it well! The light grey technic half pegs with stud have become my
favorite part lately as well. My next mecha uses them to hide studs, if you can
beleve that!

I did indeed butcher a throwbot piece(oh the shame!) I still have yet to get
Pohatu, as soon as I do that the butchered piece will be abolished.

No harm, no foul. You butchered the ONLY T-Bot part that is utterly useless.
Personally, I'd say keep it on. It's stronger than the Pohatu connection,
anyway. btw, nice use of my revised hip joint/Zodiac gun arm joint. You hid it
well. :-) I've been using that joint since T-bots first appeared and I've never
hidden it THAT well.

This mech was designed for atmospheric battle mostly rather than space,
that's why there's twin turbines in the chest. The saw gun never did work
out, oh well, but the rifle is pretty neat IMO, I wanted to use the chain
links somehow, this seemed like the most logical and original way to do so.

I like the atmoshperic battle idea. I have yet to design a mecha soley for that
purpose. The turbines look good. The chainlinks blend in well.

The ends of the feet open up to be steering vanes, similar in purpose to
those on anikan's pod racer. No, the joint connecting the torso to the legs
doesn't really work. it just looks really cool! Most of the machine guns
that form the mohawk on top wouldn't ork IRL, since they would end up
blasting off the head, there just there for looks.

My only beef with the model are the feet. They just don't look like they can
support the weight of the model without falling over. The steering vane idea is
a ggod one, though, and could explain the look.

The dingy looked like it would make a neat fuel tank so I did just that,
credits to Mladen's Azriel for the exterior fuel tanks. More credits,
Mladen's Azriel for spurring me to make a largish bi-pedal and for the open
frame legs, very cool idea. Mark Sandlin's Helldog ][ and Hardy gun were
also a source of inspiration.

I'm working on a way to use the raft as a shoulder pad....we'll see how that
works.

The blue skinny thing in the back is a mech under heavy construction right
now, no idea when it will be finished.

cool...anxiously awaiting it.

I am hoping to do a MK II on this, but I need to hear some helpful ideas and
tips from people for it to be a reality. This is the first of about ten new
creations coming

MK x redesigns are fun to do. I love taking a basic idea and re-working it over
and over. Currently, I'm doing this on my Overkill mech. MK III on the way-
September if I'm lucky.

I really don't know if this belongs in .announce, I dunno,

not really, but if no one complains....

Please please please let me know what you think, and pass on some helpful
information on what could be better for version 22.

Skipping from 2 to 22? Whoa! That's some re-work! j/k....

My name is Geordan Hankinson, not ballantree, I'm still waiting for Kevin to
change that for me,

Thanks

-Geordan-

Yeah, I'm still waiting for Kevin to change mine to 'Lord of Lego Mecha', but I
doubt that will happen any time soon... :)
