I recently had the good fortune of being able to watch the first 36 episodes
of Robotech.  After watching it, I was inspired to build a minifig scale Lego
Veritech.

I'm currently messing around with different solutions for articulation and
transformation of the model.  I have one of the old bandai 1/55 scale veritech
as a reference as well as some web research.

I was wondering if there is a standard that everyone uses when building
minifig scale.  I think I remember someone mentioning 1.8 meters for
minifigs.  What is the conversion for a 4x2 brick?

My only major hang up right now is the folding rear fins.  I can't really
think of an elegant way of making them fold flat neatly on top of each other
without making the assembly too bulky.

Although I'd like to stay to scale, I'm trying to design in as much
articulation as the toy, so I may have to go bigger.  As I continue to mess
with the joints i'm finding this will probably be true.

Well let me know if you guys have any suggestions.
