Hey mecha-heads,

During my long, dark 9 day exile from LUGNET (1) I actually managed to BUILD
something...AND I'm HAPPY with it! I popped off a few shots with my old
QuickTake 150 (sorry for the poor quality), and posted them here:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=4363

The specs:

-This guy is literally a 'knuckle-dragging-brute'...if I extend his arms to
full length, he lifts his own feet off the ground.

-The reason of the length of the arms: The entire arm/shoulder assembly
lifts off of the torso, for inclusion into a 'combiner' mech I am working
on-hence the '02' designation. This fella' will become the arms and upper
torso, while another mech I am working on (PHBS-01 "Pheobus") will take on
the lower torso and mobility (legs, wheels or treads...I haven't figured it
out yet) functions. A small support craft (a flyer: ELDA-03 "Esmerelda")
becomes the head of the combo (almost done).

-If I count liberally, this mech has 26 points of articulation (he is super
poseable...if I hadn't run out of battery power in the camera, I would have
played a bit more):

  -neck/head (1)
  -wings (2)
  -jump jet (1)
  -shoulders (2)
  -upper arms (2)
  -elbows (2)
  -forearms (2)
  -hands/digits (4)
  -hips (2)
  -knees (2)
  -toes (4)
  -heels (2)

-Note the lack of hand held weaponry...with arms this long, Quasi is a
grappler. A more 'traditional' hand held weapon is part of the combined mech
design though-when the arms from this one are a bit more in proportion with
the overall mech.

Enjoy!

Matt

(1) Due to a snafu while trying to change the e-mail address I use while
posting, I couldn't post for 9 days...by falling back on my regular address,
I can post once more.

Cool mecha. You've pulled off the brutish, grunt look very well. I am a fan of Gorilla-type mecha anyway. I look forward to seeing the combo mecha in action. BTW the Hornet looks great as well. How did I miss that one the first time around? Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

As I'm looking at this I wonder what part you started with first? (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
