I was going to suggest that having a look at a real cat might be helpful to get the look right, but if that’s not what you’re aiming for, then you are probably on the right track.

   If there’s one thing I’ve learned about building cat mecha, is that they don’t necessarily have to resemble an actual cat.Sometimes a more subtle suggestion of catness is the aim.

Ah. Right. Yes, I guess if something has whiskers and a tail, it becomes, essentially a cat.
